I’m pretty sure the no-subscription repo can be enabled with a few clicks in the UI. I haven’t experienced any issues with updates. I haven’t seen it misconfigure Ubuntu VMs either, but maybe I haven’t tried one. All in all, if those are your only complaints, it sounds pretty solid to me.
