You’re looking for TubeArchivist
I honestly don’t know if it’s working… I’ll have to see. It’s worked flawlessly for me, HDR and 4k haven’t needed transcoding and I store the raw format. I went all out on that machine, 5000 series AMD cpu and a 6900XTX for hardware. It drives my TV, I wanted the experience to be better than a desktop. (To family, frame drops on a computer are normal, but consoles give “perfect” 60fps even though we all know it’s just tricks, so I had to drop big for it)
Very nice! I’ll check this out!
any personal preferences you recommend?
I use PopOS too. Switched to Bazzite though for htpc. HDR works out of the box, and added Plex htpc as a “game” that I launch from steam.
For your amount, just an external hard drive attached to a NAS or something is fine, or a 2-bay synology would be more than enough. Drives are coming in 20-24TB models now, that’d keep you going for a long time.
I use tape but haven’t been happy with my drive for a while, where do you get your drives? (Also OP I wouldn’t recommend tape until you cross the 10TB mark personally)
Congrats, you’re officially at the point where you should probably looking at kubernetes. Highly available, failover, and load balancers. It’s a steep learning curve, but if you’re looking for this level of availability you’re probably ready for it
Did they really? Oh my god please tell me your joking, that a company as modern as docker got a freaking oracle CEO. They pulled a Jack Barker. Did he bring his conjoined triangles of success?
